Dates For Your Diary
Our next production will be our full length play in February 2012.
Please note that, due to a severe reduction of seating being imposed on us, we will be performing over six nights between Monday 6 February and Saturday 11 February in the hope that we do not disappoint anyone.
Senior citizen discounts will continue to be offered on Tuesday 7 February
We ask you to be flexible in your booking arrangements so that we can accomodate all our audience.

We had previously advertised that we hoped to produce "Gaslight", but have been refused a license as a professional company has declared an intention to tour with this play at the same time.  We hope that we will be able to produce it sometime in the future.

Instead, we will be producing a relatively modern play, "Murder by Misadventure" by Edward Taylor and to be directed by Sue Preston.

This is high quality drama which has many twists and turns in the plot and should not be missed.
Synopsis

Despite their success as TV thriller writers, Harold Kent has become dissatisfied with Paul Riggs, his writing partner and wants to dissolve their association. Riggs, however, knows that he would not survive as a writer without Harold and threatens to blackmail him if the partnership is ended.  In order to escape this impasse, Harold conspires with his wife, Emma, to kill Riggs, using a plot from a projected script, Murder by Misadventure, as his inspiration.  The plan goes smoothly…….. Or does it?

There is a last-scene denouement which turns every available table, until you are left giddy with bewilderment.

About the Author

EDWARD TAYLOR  wrote and performed in the Cambridge University Footlights Revue of 1955 which played in London with great success. He was then invited to join the BBC as a writer-producer on a twelve-month contract. He accepted, and stayed for thirty-six years.

Edward's 3214 productions have included many of the BBC's classic series, broadcast around the world.  Among them : Just A Minute, Round the Horne, I'm Sorry - I'll Read That Again, Does The Team Think and Dr. Finlay's Casebook. He also wrote scripts for Morecambe and Wise, Arthur Askey, Harry Worth, The Two Ronnies, and others.

His two activities combined when he created, wrote and produced The Men From The Ministry, which ran on the BBC for fifteen years, and is still enjoyed overseas. He has had national tours of his plays, "Murder by Misadventure" and "Pardon me, Prime Minister".

Advance ticket sales can be made by sending a Booking Form, with a cheque to the value of the tickets, to the ticket secretary.

We regret that we do not reserve tickets for performances through the website.   The ticket secretary's telephone number is provided primarily to enquire about availability.

Tickets may be available on the night at the ticket desk, but, as we normally have audiences of 80% to 90% over each show week, and have sell-out performances on some nights, we cannot guarantee availabilty.  This will be exacerbated due to the seating restrictions noted above.  We therefore recommend advance booking.
